The boys have a short holiday job caring for the neighbours place while they are away.
Since the neighbours have a LOT of garden and the weather has been VERY hot, they have been doing a lot of watering and trying to keep things alive.
The most exciting job has been feeding the chooks!! Goldie and Jet are beautiful specimens. They dutifully lay an egg each every day and always look and sound delightful scratching around the yard. For safety sake, the chook's and the garden's, the boys are to keep the hens locked up. What a drama the other day when one got out! So much garden to hide in. Eventually they called for back up - Mum - and managed to herd her back in.
This has been really good experience for the boys. Having to get their chores at home done and take care next door before play time.
