I was born in 1962, the sixth of eight children in a staunch Roman Catholic family. My family lived and worked on a mixed farming property in the beautiful Callide Valley in Central Queensland.
I attended a 2/3 teacher Primary school before completing my High School years in boarding school. Both were wonderful life experiences!
My first job, which I loved, was Kindergarten Assistant. I then worked for five years as a Library Assistant in a local Girls' College. I liked this job as well and only gave it up when expecting my first child.
It was during this time that I struggled with severe health issues, deep emotional and spiritual problems and lived a life completely void of thoughts of God, my own soul's condition and my eternal destination. God, in his great mercy brought my husband into my life, who in turn introduced me to many other bible believing Christians, I heard the gospel, recognized my sinful condition and my need of a saviour and surrendered my life to the Lord Jesus Christ!
We married in December, 1985. Our first son was born prematurely and died in February, 1987. Praise God from that devastating sorrow He brought about growth in grace and added to our family.
Two girls, April 1988 and November 1990, and two boys, November 1997 and March 1999. I have been a wife and stay at home mother for over twenty four years. Despite many trials and sorrows, this is the role which I have always longed for and have always loved above all else. These difficulties pale when compared to the amazing joy and excitement my delightful family have brought me. Thank you Lord!
My husband was always convicted to home school and we began that venture in 1993. This year marks 20 years of homeschooling through good times, great trials, health dramas, learning difficulties and just plain weariness. Yet we have learned so much. My chief goal is to raise my children in the fear and nurture of the Lord., to instill in them christian principles and characters and the rest is icing.
I am now the proud "Mumma" to six darling grandchildren (Hence my blog title.). My daughters are raising their families within about ten minutes drive of our place. With my parents in a Retirement Village just up the hill I joy to have four generations of my family living so close.
I am very blessed to be part of a small but very committed church family. I am also part of a very large, active and supportive homeschooling group.
I praise God for his good hand upon me all the days of my life!
