Home's Cool but we love to work together!
We have an active home school community and do lots of activities together (mainly sport) but today we enjoyed a Craft/ Science Day. This was co-ordinated by the Christian School of Distance Education which some of us are registered with.
" Duck, Duck Goose" is a long time favourite of the littlies.
The children aged between about 8 - 12 were set a team challenge. They had to devise a nest which would protect their (raw) eggs when dropped!
These guys came up with some great ideas, though they broke quite a few before getting it right.
This was the winning entry!This crazy little nest spared their eggs first and every try.
(The boys in this group were the older ones.)

Learning team working skills and gleaning ideas from the other children is great for my boys. Having some learning difficulties makes them a little apprehensive to "do school" with other children and "real" teachers around, but they generally had a lot of fun and it was a good learning experience. Life will not always centre around Mum and Dad and they gain confidence and skills in having to try things in front of others.
A very enjoyable and profitable day was had by all!!

That's something I miss. A homeschool community. Here where I live now we had a nice group but 2 of the biggest families moved away and it just kind of fizzled out.
