Our baby turns ten!

How the years fly. My baby is ten years old today!!



He was my fifth birth and all were premmies. I had been hospitalised at 32 weeks with my usual pre eclampsia. Thumping head, high blood pressure, passing lots of protein, severe oedema. The idea being to get as far along as possible. On Sunday, 14th March, (34 weeks) about 6am I had a show and almost immediately went into labour which sent the staff, about to go off night duty, into a tail spin. (I had a very large, drama filled medical file and almost every complication imaginable in the past four pregnancies and births!) At about 9.30am he was born by emergency c-section - not breathing. Praise God a little oxygen and he started to cry.

What a blessing this boy has been to me and to our whole family. Yesterday we had a home schoolers get together at the local Botanic Gardens and then two of his friends (brothers) spent the afternoon with us, which included coming along to his basketball game at night and dinner with us.

Today, both big sisters and their families joined us for a birthday morning tea. This included his two gorgeous and oh-so-loved nephews. Both my sons are very good with the babies and blessed to be allowed lots of access by their big sisters! (The same big sisters who loved and cuddled and fussed over them!) Ten years is a small milestone. May the Lord richly bless you, my darling son and may you come to know Him and serve Him always.


Things I love about my S2: He's affectionate and cuddly. He has gorgeous chocolate brown eyes and unbelievalble long lashes! He almost always thanks me for cooking a meal. He sees the funny side of life and comes out with some classic one liners.! He's really good with younger children, especially his nephews.

Things we're working on: His domestic deafness! His reading and writing skills.
