Last weekend many of our family and friends gathered to celebrate sixty years of marriage. What a wonderful testimony that crowd of people was to the many years of commitment, patience, love and perseverance Mum and Dad have put in over that time.
They are frail and weary now, but they have worked hard and can enjoy the fruits of their labour. Being surrounded by their seven surviving children (and spouses), 21 grandchildren (and spouses) and 25 great grand children (so far) is what they love and live for. Although a few were not able to attend, most made a huge effort to attend the special celebrations. .
I thank God for you, my dear Dad and Mum, and may God bless and keep you for as long as you both shall live ♥

ReplyDeleteMany congratulations to your parents. 60 years is very special indeed. I remember my grandparents-in-law 60th anniversary - the whole family came to the party from all over the country. So glad to read your family made a great effort to get everyone there for your parents too. They look very happy in both the earlier and current photos. And what a beautiful wedding dress your mum had! I hope the fashion swings back that way by the time my girls are getting married - so sick of seeing strapless wedding gowns with low cut necklines.

ReplyDeleteUp until recently Dad had a good memory for names but mum never has had. They are okay with their own family, but give them a break, they have a lot of grand/great grand children and let's face it, most of them are not Tom, Dick and Mary. My littlies especially have quite unusual modern names :-)
